Standard sci-fi landscape fare! It has quite a foreboding air to it, and it sounds like a foreign place since I have no idea what gymnosperms are o_0

This book is supposed to be really good since it won a Hugo and all. It's been on my TBR since 2008 heh.... I hope it lives up to its hype!

Gymnosperm a plant that has seeds unprotected by an ovary or fruit. Gymnosperms include the conifers, cycads, and ginkgo.
