Welcome from Book Blog Hop hosted by Crazy for Books and Follow Friday hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read!
What’s the ONE GENRE that you wish you could get into, but just can’t?
I kind of wish I could get into classics, but I always find something newer and shinier to read whenever I think about it. Sometimes it makes me feel less well read because I haven't read the classics. It's ok though, I have lots of fun with my SFF books ^.^

Name 3 authors that you would love to sit down and spend an hour or a meal with just talking about either their books or get advice on writing from?
John Scalzi who is the author of Old Man's War is someone I would absolutely love to sit down with because he's just generally entertaining although his books are awesome too, but I don't have too many questions about the books beyond when are there going to be more.
Patrick Rothfuss, he's like a big huggable teddy bear, and it would be great to have discussion with him
I would also love to talk to Jacqueline Carey because her books are just so wonderful.
Oh wow, I don't know these authors at all. But I'm all in favor or teddy bears.

Hopping through. You managed to pick three authors I don't know!
ReplyDeleteOh...and you haven't been out of the loop. This is my first week of hosting. So far it's going well. It took me three days of fiddling with the post to make sure it was going to go up right. I was really nervous. :-)
My Hop
I've never heard of these authors. I'll have to check them out.

I keep hearing nice things about Mr. Rothfuss. I need to try his work out sometime soon...
ReplyDeleteI'm EXACTLY the same way... I know I should read the classics, but something 'new and sparkly' catches my eye and it's a no-go!
ReplyDeleteMy FF Post!
I love classics and wish I had more time for them too. I admire the stamina of people who read almost nothing but classics. There is always something new distracting me from them too although I try to read one a month.
ReplyDeleteSplit the difference and read some Jules Verne and H.G. Wells. :)
ReplyDeleteSince last week's pie chart about where I get my books was so popular, I thought I'd share what types of books I do read. Please stop by to see which genres I don't typically read.
Hi, I am a new follower just stopping by to show some love. I haven't heard of any of the authors that you have listed before. I will have to look them up.
ReplyDeleteDanielle @Ramblings From This Chick
I'm the same way with classics! Although, when I was younger I went through a phase where that's all I read. There are still ones I'd love to re-read or finally get around to reading for the first time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by mine!

I am with you on the classics. Some I can get into, some I just can't do it, and I feel bad about it.
ReplyDeletethanks for the follow! following back :)
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time with the classics too and I feel like something is wrong with me when I can't get into it. I'm doing a read a long for David Copperfield right now and it was definitely not the classic I should have started with! Very daunting.

I forget how much I truly love your blog sometimes and I think I'll have commented and then find out later that I didn't and just thought I did. Ugh! I am horrible, but I do really enjoy your blog! :)
ReplyDeleteFor me, I do love the Classics, but I have to really be in the mood to read them. Apparently, I love them so much that I have two copies of Jane Eyre and one copy of Pride and Prejudice. lol. Now, if it's something like Great Expectations or Little Women, I'll sit down and read those all day long. Seriously, I love those books to death! :)
Happy Friday Hops, have a grrreat weekend!

My Friday Hops (+) Blog Hop!
I've read so many of the classics in high school and college... and I do like Shakespeare and Jane Austen. But there's a lot of classics I've been meaning to re-read only because I've heard from so many people that they enjoyed them so much more when they didn't have to read them for school.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of these authors before. I'll have to look them up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and I'm following you back.
I haven't read too many classics either and I really should. Too many new good ones though to pass up. I am a new follower on gfc as countrysunset40. Come on over to visit when you get the chance.
